The Children’s Voice research project aims to make sure children are heard in the programs and decisions that affect them. As the end users of these initiatives, children are well positioned to provide valuable insights that help align programs with what matters most to them.
What we’ve done:
Identified which social values matter most to children: Children shared what values are most important to them. These insights will help to develop an evaluation framework centered on their priorities.
Explored what children think about school lunch models: We’ve worked directly with children to understand perspectives of a hypothetical school lunch model. Read the paper here.
What’s next:
The next phase of this research will expand to include children, caregivers, and school staff perspectives of a school provided lunch model. This project aims to support the development of school meal programs that are responsive, inclusive, and meet the needs and experiences of those they serve.
